Abbreviated Additional Instructions
If you have already looked at DU5 you may have noticed a couple of changes.
These changes were brought about because I was always needing to use more
than one of the DU's that were out.One had Arc and DEArc both of which I
needed and one had EDIT which was very handy and none at this point in time
had a format command which is useful when transferring files around. All of
them seemed to have places for hard drives, being a POOR Amiga user I had no
use for these, so I took them out and added a couple of more useful things.
Contained in this arc file you will find, 1).DU5 2).DU5.c 3).DU5.info
4).FORMAT ---- A Modified format command that should be used with this
program, Just put it in the c-directory of your sys: disk, it has to be
named FORMAT so if you still want to use your old format command just rename
it and use it with its new name. Format also states that it fails when it is
finished, but have no fear it succeeded unless you happened to have any hard
errors on the disk, in which case it will say so in the output box.
There are two new commands on this DU. They are FORMAT and A-LIST. Format
does exactly that, it formats a disk. Specify the drive that you want to
Format in the Exe. slot, the area marked with an E, and specify the name
that you want to give it in the Destination slot. Then click on the FORMAT
Gadget and watch it go, it's little different-I hope you like it.
*******IMPORTANT NOTE*******
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE DISK THAT YOU WANT FORMATTED IN THE DRIVE BEFORE
YOU CLICK THE FORMAT GADGET, BECAUSE ONCE YOU DO THERE IS NO TURNING BACK.
Take it from me, it is possible to destroy important things when your not
paying attention......
A-LIST you must have ARC in your c-directory for this one just as with Arc
and DEARC. all this does is give you a verbose listing of the contents of
the highlighted Arc-file.
The Edit command was added back in to replace the last harddrive because for
my uses I find it allot more useful. It works the same way that it has on
previous versions. I hope that you find this to be a useful addition in
your collection of the many DU's that now exist.
IF THIS THING EATS A DISK DON'T BLAME ME ALL WARNINGS WERE PROVIDED IN ORDER
TO KEEP UP WITH THE CURRENT READ-MES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
